When Florette Salad invited me to an evening of #SaladSecrets a few weeks ago, I expected a talk about the different leaves available and which ingredients they’re each best paired with. So when I arrived at the beautiful Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings conservatory and was greeted with a choice of Bloody Rocket, Peppercress Margarita and baby kale smoothies to drink I knew I was in for a big surprise!
The event’s menu was designed by Anna and Naomi from Lunch Bxd, whose creativity was simply astounding – head over here for my review of the night and more photos of their delicious canapes!
Whilst we tucked into the ladies’ creations, Nikki from Florette explained the challenge she’d like to set us: to become #SaladSecrets ambassadors, designing a recipe each month to finally say goodbye to perceptions of salads as a boring bowl of green iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and a couple of cucumber cubes.
I paired up with Jen from Sweat & Swagger for a quick-fire salad creation challenge and we couldn’t resist using the juicy strawberries in our dish. Little did we know that we’d foretold Florette’s first ambassador theme – Wimbledon!
With London in the middle of a heatwave (it reached 40° in the sun today – almost unheard of for England!), a picnic is the perfect meal to enjoy whether you’re watching the matches at home or are lucky enough to be sat on Henman Hill itself inside the Wimbledon grounds.
Head over to the recipe blog post to create this deliciously healthy cupcake (it’s sugar, dairy, gluten and nut free so perfect for any families with allergies or school packed lunch rules!).
